Sekem Demeter Flax seed oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, healthy proteins, and fibers. Flaxseed oil is also known as linseed oil and is made from the dried, ripened seeds of the flax plant.
The oil is obtained by pressing, sometimes followed by solvent extraction. Some researchers think flaxseed oil might have some of the same benefits as fish oil. Also known as Vegetarian fish oil .
Flaxseeds contain about 55% ALA, 28–30% protein, and 35% fiber. Flaxseed is also high in soluble fiber and in lignans, which contain phytoestrogens. Similar to the hormone estrogen, phytoestrogens might have anti-cancer properties. However, flaxseed oil doesn’t have these phytoestrogens.
